Rules and Conditions (composition)

Competition procedure

The competition auditions are conducted on the basis of video recordings submitted by participants in the form of links to video-hosting platforms (YouTube) or file-sharing services. All video materials must be prepared in accordance with the requirements specified in the “Video recording rules” section on the competition website.

Auditions are held in three stages:

  • First (Qualifying) Round. The programs are reviewed by a reduced panel of the jury. Based on the results, participants who qualify for the Second (Main) Round are selected. Contestants who do not advance to the Second Round receive a certificate confirming their participation in the Qualifying Round.
  • Second (Main) Round. The video recordings of the participants admitted to this stage are reviewed by the full jury. Links to the videos of Second Round participants are published on their individual pages on the competition website and made publicly accessible.
Following the results of the Main Round, the laureates of the First, Second, and Third Prizes, as well as diploma winners, are determined. Contestants who do not receive awards are issued certificates confirming their participation in the Main Round.
  • Third (Final) Round. Participation in the Final Round is restricted to the First Prize laureates in each of the three age groups, together with the winners of the additional categories. The Final Round is conducted as follows: after the completion of the Main Round, the Organizing Committee compiles and publishes on the competition website a publicly accessible video consisting of recordings of one work (selected by the jury) from each participant’s program. Members of the jury representing each category view the video and cast one vote for any finalist, regardless of category or age group.
The Grand Prix is awarded only if one finalist receives 50 percent or more of the votes.
Simultaneously, an audience vote is held on video-hosting platforms. The participant with the highest number of audience votes receives the Audience Choice Award.

Jury

The jury for the composition category is composed of international composers, as well as faculty members of higher and secondary educational institutions.
The principles and procedures governing the work of the jury are set out in the official document “Rules and regulations of the jury”
