- Use a digital SLR camera (DSLR) with an extension microphone, or a quality professional or semi-professional camcorder. Using a smartphone or tablet is acceptable, but not desirable, especially when recording an ensemble.
- Be sure to use a tripod.
- Do not use optical effects (sepia, fast shooting, b / w photo, etc.)
- Arrange the composition of the shot: the performer should be in the foreground, close up, his arms and head should not be "cut off".
- The performer should not be located in front of bright light sources (for example, windows)
